Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Starbase, a desktop code review application, and the website at https://fivestarcode.com (collectively, the "Service"), operated by Five-Star Code ("we", "us", or "our"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms.

1. Account

You may need to create an account to access certain features. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials and for all activity under your account.

2. Subscriptions and Billing

Starbase offers a free plan and paid subscription plans billed monthly. Paid plans provide access to AI-powered code review features with monthly token allowances.

Subscription fees are charged at the beginning of each billing cycle via Stripe. You authorize us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel.

3. Cancellation Policy

You may cancel your subscription at any time through your Account page or by contacting us at support@fivestarcode.com.

When you cancel, your subscription remains active until the end of the current billing cycle. After that, your account reverts to the Free plan. You will not be charged again after cancellation.

4. Refund and Dispute Policy

If you are unsatisfied with the Service, you may request a refund within 14 days of your most recent payment by contacting support@fivestarcode.com. Refunds are issued at our discretion and typically processed within 5-10 business days to your original payment method.

If you believe a charge is incorrect, please contact us before filing a dispute with your bank or card issuer. We will work with you to resolve the issue promptly.

5. Acceptable Use

You agree not to misuse the Service, including but not limited to: attempting to circumvent token limits, reverse-engineering the application, using automated means to abuse AI review features, or using the Service for any unlawful purpose.

6. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, and branding, is owned by Five-Star Code. Your code and repositories remain yours — we do not claim ownership of any code you review through Starbase.

7. Limitation of Liability

The Service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. Five-Star Code is not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service. AI-generated code reviews are suggestions only and should not be relied upon as a sole quality assurance measure.

8. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms on this page with a revised effective date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
